Youth Music Competition

The fifth annual music Wyre Forest Young Musician of the Year Competition takes place in St. George's Hall, Bewdley on Saturday 9th February.

The competition is open to young people aged 12 to 18 inclusive (as at 31st December 2018) who either live in the Wyre Forest district or attend a school or college within the district.

The competition will take place during the afternoon of Saturday 9th February 2018, with the category winners invited to perform at a gala concert in the evening from 7:00 pm at which the Young Musician of the Year will be chosen and the winner of the prize for Best Original Composition will be announced.

Welcome to Bewdley Youth Festival

Bewdley Youth Festival was founded in 2012 as part of Bewdley Festival, a registered charity which is currently in its 32nd Year of bring top-class arts events to Bewdley and the Wyre Forest..

The aim of Bewdley Youth Festival is to widen the engagement of young people with the Arts.

As part of this commitment we organise a number of events throughout the year designed to give young people the opportunity to participate and perform at professionally organised events.

Our programme in 2019 includes:

Friday 11th January - Youth Music Showcase

Saturday 9th February - The Wyre Forest Young Musician of the Year Competition in St. George's Hall, Bewdley

Friday 14th to Sunday 16th June - Hopfest Family Music Festival
